Neutral Milk Hotel - My Dream Girl Don’t Exist
i’ve always been mildly amused by this song because:
-the guitar riff is almost an exact match for Green Day’s “When I Come Around”, but Jeff Magnum is/was such a reclusive hermit i am willing to believe he had no idea who Green Day even were in 1995.
-the subject matter is, as usual, really weirdly creepy.
